Celebrating JWOF's 10-year Anniversary Tea Party

 

The Jamaican Women of Florida hosts a Tea Party in Celebration of 10 years Sunday, October 30, 2022

Fort Lauderdale, FL – October 30, 2022 - The Jamaican Women of Florida (JWOF), in keeping with their mission to encourage emerging powerful women, will host its first Tea Party to celebrate JWOF’s 10 years Anniversary at the Queens Teas House, Parkland, Fl 33067

This event will include an overview of the history of the Jamaican Women of Florida. There will be trivia and networking which will allow attendees to connect, learn more about JWOF’s service in the community, mentoring, and our scholarship program.

The Jamaican Women of Florida will host several events to celebrate the organizations 10 years of service in the community. The tea party is the first of these events. In keeping with our mission, the day’s activities include recognition of the founding members, judging of tea sets, modeling of ladies in hats, and more.

JWOF is a Florida Not-For-Profit, founded in October 2012 as an organization designed to provide an outlet for Jamaican women to empower themselves through networking, mentoring and personal development. JWOF strives to partner with local and international organizations; assist young children; provide scholarships to Jamaican/American women in college; inspire women's personal development, and mentor the next generation of powerful women in Jamaica and Florida. Contributions are welcome to fund our annual "Powerful Women…Next Generation" scholarship program. The $5,000 ($1,250 yearly) scholarship is awarded annually to a first or second-generation, Jamaican American female graduate of a high school in Florida who intends to enroll in a post-secondary institution the following fall semester.
