Message from President, Dr. Venessa Walker
Aligned for Impact
My beautiful JWOF Sisters,
It is truly a joy to welcome you on behalf of the Jamaican Women of Florida (JWOF)!
This year, we are moving forward under a theme that speaks directly to who we are and where we are going: ALIGNED FOR IMPACT.
Because when women are aligned in purpose, aligned in service, and aligned with one another, there is no limit to the impact we can make.
My vision for this year is centered around our 5S Framework: Sisterhood, Service, Structure, Security, and Significance.
Sisterhood — Strengthening the bonds that connect us and creating spaces where women feel welcomed, supported, celebrated, and seen.
Service — Continuing to show up for our community in meaningful ways. From supporting women through our Suit Drive, to serving children and families through our back-to-school initiatives, giving back through health and wellness outreach, and extending our service beyond Florida to Jamaica, we are committed to putting our hands and hearts to work.
Structure — Building a stronger organization with systems, leadership, accountability, and opportunities for every Sister to find her place and use her gifts.
Security — Creating greater financial strength for our organization while encouraging conversations around financial wellness, entrepreneurship, career development, and building sustainable futures for the women we serve.
Significance — Making sure that what we do matters—not just today, but for generations to come. We are building legacy through mentorship, scholarships, leadership development, and intentional investment in our young women.
And Sisters, we are not just talking about impact, we are already DOING the work!
We have served, collected, donated, mentored, connected, celebrated, educated, and poured into our communities. We have created opportunities for women to come together in sisterhood while continuing to answer the call to serve those who need us.
But we are just getting started!
This is the year for every Sister to ask herself: “Where do I fit into the impact?”
There is room for your ideas.
There is room for your gifts.
There is room for your leadership.
And most importantly, there is room for YOU.
Whether you have been a JWOF Sister for years, recently joined us, are considering membership, or simply support the work we do, I invite you to lean in, get involved, and help us continue building something powerful.
We are not simply gathering—we are growing.
We are not simply serving—we are creating change.
We are not simply connected—we are ALIGNED FOR IMPACT!
I am excited about where we are going, grateful for everything we have accomplished together, and honored to serve alongside each of you.
